Despite the more than 8,000 licensed child care providers across the state, Massachusetts, like so many other areas across the country, is facing a child care crisis, particularly for those families working nontraditional hours.

Below is our interactive map as well as a report brief and the county-level data supplement (as of 2/7/18) illustrating these gaps. On the final tab of the map, you will find our policy recommendations on how Child Care Resource & Referral agencies (CCR&Rs) can address these gaps to help working families. Special thanks to our partners in Massachusetts for providing this critical data that has allowed us to create this map.
