Best Practices and Quality Assurance

Child Care Aware® of America continues to refine and evaluate the programs and services we offer to our members. As many of you know, the Quality Assurance Program for CCR&Rs and State Networks has been in a holding period for several years, with no new applicants being accepted.

In 2017, CCAoA completed a thorough review of the current Quality Assurance Program in an effort to determine immediate and long term best next steps. Interviews with past and current program participants, CCR&R members, government funders and stakeholders revealed the program was of value, however, the costs and resources needed to relaunch the program remain a significant barrier. It is for this reason, Child Care Aware® of America has made the difficult decision to end the current Quality Assurance Program. CCAoA will continue to support programs currently enrolled through the end of their validation periods and ensure access to relevant resources up until June 30, 2020.

We recognize and applaud the tremendous effort that so many CCR&Rs and State Networks have put forth over the last two decades by participating in the Quality Assurance Program. Please rest assured Child Care Aware® of America remains committed to uplifting and strengthening the CCR&R community now and in the future. We will continue to seek new opportunities and resources to support the evolution of CCR&Rs by advancing best practices and professional standards for the field.

We also encourage you to take advantage of the ever-expanding opportunities available now, including, but not limited to:

  • Mapping the Gap
  • National Technical Assistance Centers
  • Multi-topic Webinar Series
  • Symposium & Leadership Institute
  • Peer Learning Networks
  • State Network & Membership Councils
