Be advised, Virginia is currently transitioning to a new quality rating and information system. The last date to enroll in Virginia Quality was June 31, 2021. Any provider who did not previously enroll in Virginia Quality will now need to enroll in The United Virginia Quality Birth to Five System (VQB5).

What are the standards for becoming an approved MCCYN-PLUS provider in Virginia- Virginia Quality?

Community child care providers in Virginia currently receiving DoD fee assistance must meet the following requirements:

  • Enroll in state’s QRIS program and receive an initial quality level within twelve months from October 1, 2019.
  • Achieve a quality level three within two years following the initial awarded quality level.
  • Advance to a quality level four within two years following the awarded quality level three.
  • Advance to the next highest quality level or accreditation within two years.

New applicants requesting to participate in the fee assistance program must meet the following requirements:

  • Enrollment in QRIS with a minimum level of three
  • Advance to a quality level four within two years following the awarded quality level three.
  • Advance to the next highest quality level or accreditation within two years.

  • Enrollment in QRIS
  • Provide VQB5 rating- must have measurement between 400-800 points to be eligible
