Katherine Cothern is currently the Program Manager for the Southwest Tennessee Child Care Resource and Referral program, which serves 19 counties in northwest and southwest Tennessee. She has served in this capacity since the program’s inception in 1999. Prior to this, Kathie worked as a Montessori Educator, classroom teacher, Early Childhood Program Administrator, and Director of Early Childhood Ministries.
Katherine gives back to her community in many ways and is a first aid/CPR instructor and certified child/passenger safety technician. She has served or is currently serving on the following boards: Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library for Madison County Tennessee, Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), West Tennessee Association for Childhood Education International, Tennessee Association for Childhood Education International, Gabriel’s Garden Boundless Playground, Jumpstart Jackson Community Health Action Team, Kiwanis Club of Jackson, TN, and Child Care Aware® of America Membership Council. Kathie holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology with a Public Health Minor and a Master’s Degree in Education with licensure, in addition to 27 graduate hours in Applied Behavior Analysis.
