Fran Jamison

Fran Jamison, Vice President of Military Programs; Executive Director, Respite Care of America 

Francisco “Fran” Jamison is the Vice President of Military Programs at Child Care Aware of America. In this role, Fran contributes to Child Care Aware of America’s mission by leading the implementation of a comprehensive organizational strategy to ensure the quality implementation and expansion of national military-funded and military-connected child care programs across the United States. Additionally, he serves as Executive Director of Respite Care of America, a subsidiary of Child Care Aware of America that aims to provide quality respite child care for military families with children (birth through 18 years.) 

Prior to coming to Child Care Aware of America, Fran worked for over 28 years as part of the Department of Defense (DOD) military child care programs in a variety of leadership roles. He has supervised a variety of DOD programs including Child Development Centers, School Age Programs, Family Child Care, Parent Central Services, Outreach Programs, Youth Sports and Fitness and Teen Programs.  

Fran is a military “brat” as his dad served in the U.S. Army where the family lived in Hampton Roads, VA for most of his 20+ year career. 

He graduated from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale with a degree in Workforce Education and Development and has completed all levels of DOD Civilian Education System training including Advanced and Continuing Education for Senior Leaders.
